Perris Lake: Virtual English 4B 2020-2021

Welcome to the Lake!

What an exciting adventure to begin the 2020-2021 school year together! We will be exploring, identifying, analyzing, researching, and producing within reading/writing strategies. This may include analyzing text features, understanding visuals, recognizing text structures, reading in content areas, testing strategies, functional reading, and writing in an approach that allows flexibility for learners of any level and allows students extensive interaction. Techniques and strategies in English structure, reading comprehension, and writing are practiced/reviewed within the California Content Standards.

We are learning as we go, taking one day at a time. however, the quarter system moves quickly and it is imperative that you show up on time daily and be productive and work hard towards your goal of meeting graduation requirements.

Let's be successful! Use the following guidelines daily to ensure your success:

1. Be on time daily (mics/cameras off-until instructed).

2. Be prepared daily ( charged Chromebook, pens/highlighters, notebook).

3. Be productive and do your best (during the designated time: ask questions).

I am a graduate of Perris High School and have worked for the PUHSD district for almost 25 years, 15 of those years here at my happy home of the Falcons. I am an English Teacher, ASB Advisor, and a Yearbook Advisor. I have had the privilege of working with many talented staff members throughout the years and have gained valuable experience that I am excited to share with my students. Some of my interests include cooking, photography, traveling, and much-appreciated family time.
